Transportation: On foot and with public transport to Allmende-Kontor (U8 Boddinstraße), afterwards to Prinzessinengarten (Prinzenstraße 35-38, U8 Moritzplatz)
Explanation: Allemende-Kontor on the former airport Tempelhofer Feld means „Reclaim the Commons“. They try to create garden areas for everyone in the city. “Die Gärtnerei“ works with young migrants from all over the world.
Excursion 2: Schul-Umwelt-Zentrum Mitte (SUZ) – Kleingartenkolonie Rehberge – Prinzessinengarten

Transportation: Bus shuttle to Schul-Umwelt-Zentrum Mitte (SUZ), Kleingartenkolonie Rehberge, afterwards to Prinzessinengarten (Prinzenstraße 35-38)
Explanation: The Schul-Umwelt-ZentrumMitte is a part of the Gartenarbeitsschulen and provides an environmental education program for schools. The Kleingartenkolonie Rehberge is a typical allotment garden in Berlin.
Excursion 3: Gemeinschaftsgarten Mörchenpark – Prinzessinengarten
04:45 – 7:30 P.M., with evening snack at Prinzessinengarten
Meeting point: 4:45 P.M. in front of Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung (Schumannstr. 8)
Transportation: On foot and with public transport to Mörchenpark (Holzmarktstraße 25, S7 & S5 Ostbahnhof), afterwards to Prinzessinengarten (Prinzenstraße 35-38, U Bahnhof Moritzplatz)
Explanation: The community garden Mörchenpark e.V. is part of the Holzmarkt. The operators won the referendum “Spreebank for everyone” against the senate.
Tuesday, 12th of September
Excursion 4: IGA-Campus (2000m²-Garten, Roof Water Farm)
04:00 – 07:30 P.M.
Meeting point: 4:00 P.M. in front of Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung (Schumannstr. 8)
Transportation: Bus shuttle to IGA-Campus and back
Explanation: The IGA-Campus offers an environmental education program in the context of the IGA Berlin. They show the agriculture area that is theoretically available for every person living on this planet.
Excursion 5: ECF Farmsystems
04:00 – 07:30 P.M.
Meeting point: 04:00 P.M. in front of Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung (Schumannstr. 8)
Transportation: On foot and with public transport from Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung (Schumannstr. 8) to ECF Farmsystems (Bessemerstraße 20, S41, S42, S46, S 25 Südkreuz)
Explanation: ECF is an aquaponic farm that puts its emphasis on the efficient use of resources for fish and vegetable production.
Wednesday, 13th of September
Excursion 6: Gärtnerhof Charlottenburg – Bauerngärten – Speisegut
09:00 A.M – 02:00 P.M, includes a small lunch at Vierfelderhof
Meeting point: 09:00 A.M. in front of Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung (Schumannstr. 8)
Transportation: Bus shuttle to Gärtnerhof Charlottenburg, Bauerngarten, Speisegut and back (with stop at central station)
Explanation: The Gärtnerhof Charlottenburg runs successfully an organic farm on the area of the former Schloßgärtnerei Charlottenburg and occupies people with disabilities. The organic farm “Bauerngärten” runs self-harvesting gardens in three different locations. It is remarkable that they do not get any grants. “Speisegut” was the first community supported agriculture in Berlin.
Excursion 7: Generationengarten im SUZ – Himmelbeet
09:30 A.M. – 12.00 P.M., includes a small lunch at Himmelbeet
Meeting point: 09:30 A.M. in front of Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung (Schumannstr. 8)
Transportation: On foot and with public transport from Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung (Schumannstr. 8) to Generationsgarten SUZ (Seestrasse 74, U8 & U9 Osloerstraße), afterwards by foot to Himmelbeet (Ruheplatzstraße 12)
Explanation: The intercultural generation garden was founded on the site of the “Gartenarbeitsschule Wedding”. It made it possible that residents were able to work in gardens. The community garden “Himmelbeet” is a non-profit organization that can pay for their primary responsible workers.
